@Copper said in Nine States: @taiwan_girl said in Nine States: they have to be getting the money from somewhere else. Tourists are a good source, they pay and go home so you don't have to provide a lot of resources, education for example. Good point. It would be interesting to see how that works into those states, etc. (on a side note, I remember reading an article once about a big retirement community that was built somewhere in Illinois. The town at first thought it would be a good idea - lots of new homeowners (and new property tax), but very few kids. Big win for the school. Then they found out that any school type of issue on the ballot was usually voted down, so the schools actually got worse. LOL)

@George-K said in Is Trump right?: … and some kind of legislation which defines "subject to..." He says that's a heavy lift. I’ve heard analysts mention this as a possibility. That congress could potentially clarify the definition of ‘subject to the jurisdiction thereof’ but not the president via EO.

I think it is mostly the same for most presidents. The majority of the cabinet candidates are unknown to most people.

I have three trips between now and the end of February. I’ll watch it if it’s available on the flights.

All of the above. They all did it. Who did it first may be a difference of degree, but not by much.

@Mik said in It’s melt week!: We will be in the 40s and 50s. Goodbye hideous snow. We haven’t had snow on the ground for over three weeks in n decades. In 2015, we still had snow melting in parking lots in July. This, as the saying goes, is nothing!

@jon-nyc said in We need nuclear: China did it by adding more coal-fired electricity-generating capacity per year than the U.K. has in total. By the way, those Brits feeling the pain of net zero probably find this ironic, to say the least.

His Trump voice is decent. Not as good as that dude from Long Island, but good.
